I just got some new glasses and Emily and Callie have been loving being able to try them on. For the record, letting Ben and Emily try on the old pair is the very reason I needed some new ones;) Let's see how long this pair lasts!

Halloween
We spent Halloween with Ben's preschool friends for the third year in a row. We had a lovely little party before trick-or-treating and then took the kids around the neighborhood. They all made out like bandits and the candy was eaten before the week was up=) Dan and I may or may not have helped them.

We're getting ready for Halloween! We carved pumpkins Thursday night and went Trick-or-Treating in the mall on Friday night! Can't wait for the real-deal=)

Friend Ben's 4th Birthday
Emily went to her very first party sans siblings! It was the 4th birthday of "Friend Ben" and we loved the adorable farm theme. Emily had a blast scoping out each station and playing with "her" friends(i.e. NOT Brother Ben's friends!).

15 Months!
Shortly after getting those first two teeth, we noticed her top two molars coming in AND one of her front teeth, too! She might have taken 14 months to grow those teeth, but she is a teething machine in the second year of her life=) She has perfected her walking over the last month and started climbing. On everything. If she is able to get a leg up, she will climb on it. We have to stack all our chairs because they are light enough for her to pull out and climb up. One minutes she'll be on the floor, the next, she's on the kitchen table. This, along with other delightful toddler-behavior(READ: TANTRUMS!) when we have to get her down make for super-fun days;) She's also become very jealous of my time and affection. Apparently Ben and Emily can find a new mommy because this one belongs exclusively to Callie. The hitting that was cute three months ago? It's turned into full-on bitch-slapping. Do not. I repeat: DO NOT tell her 'no'. Do not take that which she has claimed as her own. Do not even look at her the wrong way. You will get slapped. Girlfriend doesn't eff around. Isn't that lovely?!
She has her 15 month well-baby appointment and she's doing better with the weight gain. The doctor was pleased to see her going up in the charts. Below are her stats and 15 month pictures. Enjoy!

Stylin'
Both girls got haircuts this week! Emily got a smashing, Big-Girl 'do at their favorite kid's salon and Callie got her first-ever full-haircut a la Mommy=) Homegirl has some SERIOUS hair. It's gorgeous, but it was starting to look crazy. It was long(like, SUPER long!) in some spots, really short in others, curly/wavy/straight in all different spots. Dan didn't want her to get it cut yet, but she recently developed that lovely toddler-behavior where she immediately pulls out any hair-style I give her so her hair needed to be trimmed up. We love it! She actually looks like a baby again! It stays really curly and it's out of her face and needs no pigtails or hair bows to make her look darling=)
Emily has some seriously pretty hair, too. But, it's so fine and wavy that it gets really tangled. She is super tender-headed so brushing her hair becomes this battle of wills that I am tired of having. She's gotten better lately and appreciates having cute hair so she was really excited to get her hair cut. We talked about it for awhile and decided that Dora The Explorer hair(chin-length bob with bangs) was the way to go. It also helped that half the girls in her class have this same 'do, including this week's Bestie, Karishma;) Let me tell you. I wish we would have done this long ago. She is so much happier without her former lion's mane of hair in her face! She looks adorable, we barely even have to brush it and she's thrilled to look like Dora=) Money well spent!
