Sports Stars

Ben and Emily loved playing sports at their friend Kai's birthday party! Emily practiced for the WNBA and worked on her b-ball skillz. Ben loved "playing baseball!" with his buddy. They took turns hitting the ball off a T-stand and Ben was really good! It was his first time putting bat to ball and he rarely struck out. Here's hoping these two earn some big, pro-sports $$$ in their future=)

Iron Chefs

Hazel and Emmie decided to try on the chef outfits Mimi gave the kiddies for Christmas. They had tons of fun modeling their aprons and playing in the little kitchen=)

Snuggle Naps

Emily and I co-slept for her first year(more because she wouldn't sleep in her crib for any length of time and because I breastfed her for 13 months). It's almost like a "Pavlovian response" when we lay down to cuddle. Inevitably, one of both of us falls asleep within minutes! Some habits die hard=)

Farmer's Market

Mimi and I took the kiddies to the farmer's market last weekend so we could enjoy the beautiful summery weather. I guess the market is closing for the season soon because there were very few stalls. We did get a carton of delicious strawberries that Ben and Emily mowed through in about 5 minutes! The were that good. We spent the rest of the time playing on the playground, listening to live music and enjoying the sunshine=)

Super Bowl XLIII Bound--Go Steelers!

Dan has been a Steelers Fan since birth. Both he and his dad are pretty die-hard so naturally Ben and Emily have also been groomed to be the next generation of super-fans(Ben more so than Emily, as you'll see in the pictures!). The Steelers have had an AWESOME season and are headed to Super Bowl XLIII!!!! Dan couldn't be more pleased(unless they win!) so, in honor of my happy hubby, he's some pictures of our Steelers Babies=)

The prettiest and smartest Pittsburgh cheerleader in the world!

Christmas Day with 3 out of 4 in their Steelers finery. I do have my very own Steelers shirt(erm, thanks Dan.) but, sadly, it doesn't fit right now. Boohoo.

Steelers-Baby Christmas '07

Unfortunately for Dan, this was the last time we got Ben to wear his Steelers jersey. He is fiercely independent regarding his wardrobe lately and wouldn't even try on the new one Dan bought him this year. Dan was devastated.

Steelers-Baby on his first birthday!

Sigh...back in the days when he just wore whatever we dressed him in!

When Daddy's In Charge

Daddy stayed with Emily while Ben was at school and I was at the doctor's. Look at the pictures he captured for posterity! Looks like they had a wild time=)

Who Stole The Cookies From The Cookie Jar?

Mimi brought Ben and Emily a special treat the other day! A big package of Oreos. Errrm...thanks, Mimi. Not only do my ever expanding hips not thank you, but neither does anything and everything 3.5 feet and below around our home;) We have cookie crumbs EVERYWHERE. And, a pair of sugar-crazed cookie monsters begging/whining/pleading for cookies night and day. I told Ben he could have two after lunch, then made the mistake of leaving the package low enough for him to reach. He waited 'til I was distracted and then helped his sister and himself to the whole bag(well, what's left after yesterday's cookie-fest and mommy's after-dinner snack!). When I came back in the room, I had to pry the package from their sticky little hands and promptly hid it out of reach. They're still awfully cute, cookie-goatees and all=)

Thank-you, Global Warming!

It might be an inconvienient truth, but sometimes it just plain rocks! We have been having GORGEOUS, warm, sunny weather all weekend. My mom was nice enough to spend some time at the park with us on both Saturday(65 degrees) and Sunday(72 degrees!) and we had the best time. Both my children have become dare-devils when they hit a playground, so we weren't able to take very many pictures(not wanting to risk their safety for a photo-op and all). My mom managed to snap a few darling shots of them enjoying the lovely springtime-in-January weather, though!

Ben's Best Friend

Ruby is by far Ben's favorite friend. They are just kindred spirits, I think. They always have fun playing together, almost never fight(unless it's over a REALLY cool toy) and seem to really speak eachother's language. It's so cool to watch their friendship blossom=)

Sad Faces

Ben and Emily both woke up on the wrong side of the bed apparently. I managed to capture both little monkeys looking very upset!
